Q: When is the film festival?
A: The film festival is on April 30th and the final date for submissions is April 6th.

You can email films to phoenixfilmfestival@gmail.com or mail them on a DVD or CD to Tim Bray or Greg Israel, Korea International School, 373-6 Baekhyun-dong, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, Korea 463-420.
All films must reach Korea International School by April 6th to be considered.
All films must be in .mov format and 640X480 or larger.
All films must have an application form with them when they are submitted.
All films must be no longer than 5 minutes in length.

Q:Who can enter?
A: All students from any school anywhere in the world; however, the awards ceremony will be at Korea International School on April 30th, 2009 at 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. All accepted entries will be shown on the Phoenix Film Festival Youtube Channel and in the gallery area in front of the Performing Arts Center of KIS on the day of the festival. Q: How can I enter?

Q: Are there prizes? And what are they?
A: Yes, prizes will be awarded to the winners of each category in each division. Also certificates will be awarded to all participates. Prizes are TBA soon.

Categories and Divisions

Film Categories
and
Age Level Divisions

Film with a normal plot and fictional characters in any genre such as horror, mystery, comedy, action, etc.	Film that advertises or promotes a social service or school group. Examples: an advertisement of Habitat for Humanity, Model United Nations, etc.
Film about a true event or person. Examples: a film about the high school basketball season, a teacher or class, the story of how a group of students went on a trip for Habitat for Humanity and what they did on the trip, etc.	An animated film of any genre (comedy, horror, action, mystery, etc.) either in CGI, claymation, drawn, etc.
A film that makes a movie out of music. (Music must be original or student must prove that no copyright infringement exists.)	A film that expresses art through the use of film making.

Submitting a Film

How to Submit a Film:

Read the rules.
Make your film.
Make sure the film is not longer than 5 minutes.
Make sure the film is in .mov format and 640X480 or larger in size.
Completely fill out the entry form (see below – available in Word, PDF, and Pages formats at very bottom of this page).
Send your film with the entry form to the Phoenix Film Festival before April 6th. Email submissions can be sent to phoenixfilmfestival@gmail.com. DVD or CD submissions can be sent to Tim Bray or Greg Israel, Korea International School, 373-6 Baekhyun-dong, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, Korea 463-420.

Official Entry Rules

The Phoenix Film Festival reserves the right to reject any entry on the basis of objectionable content that might be potentially insulting or inflammatory images or language. The Phoenix Film Festival does not assume responsibility for phone, technical, network, electronic, computer, and hardware or software failure of any kind; or lost, late, misdirected, damaged, illegible, stolen, incomplete, misaddressed entries. Entries can be disqualified if they do not contain a completed Entry Form, a properly labeled and recorded entry on a data disc.

By entering the Phoenix Film Festival, the applicants:

(1) agree to the official rules and the decisions of the judges which will be final in all respects;

(2) consent to the use of names and likenesses, the name of his/her school or other affiliation (if applicable) and any statements, quotes or testimonials, photographs, designs, models, web content and/or any other audio-visual materials provided by the applicant for advertising, trade and publicity purposes.

(3) grants the Phoenix Film Festival and its authorized agents the assigned rights to reprint, display, reproduce, perform or exhibit the entry without limitation and without any compensation to any party, except where prohibited by law;

(4) release the Phoenix Film Festival, its subsidiaries, and affiliates from any and all liability for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by any prize or resulting from award, acceptance, possession or use of any prize, or failure to award any prize.

(5) must wholly own valid entries and their contents. Each applicant warrants and represents that he/she is the independent creator of the submitted entry; the entry is original and owned by applicant; the entry is free of any claims by other parties. The applicant is solely responsible for any copyright infringement.
